World Mental Health Awareness Month 2025
World Mental Health Awareness Month 2025 is in May and its aim is to highlight the importance of mental wellbeing and educate the public while reducing stigma. Each year, individuals and organisations come together to raise awareness and advocate for better mental health care and resources.
This year’s official theme for World Mental Health Month is ‘Community‘. By connecting with your community, a support network is created, raising awareness and ensuring that everyone across the country is involved in a culture that supports mental health and wellbeing.
Research by academics from Maynooth University, National College of Ireland, and Trinity College Dublin has found that 42% of Irish adults have a mental health disorder.
How To Get Involved
Sharing your own work initiatives towards mental health is an excellent way to show support.
Share what community means to you with the hashtag #ThisIsMyCommunity on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn.
Speak up for mental health and share a message of solidarity.
Wear a green ribbon to show your support.
Start a conversation in your community. Share, teach, and learn.

Workload and deadlines contribute to mental health challenges for 48% of Irish workers. This is why action is needed to ensure work prevents risks to mental health and protects and supports the mental health of our work community. Afterall, there is a connection between your work and your mental health.
Being mindful of your mental health in the workplace can help you:
improve your focus, enhance performance, reduce stress and burnout.

How to improve your mental health:

The Servisource community explain the ways in which they make their mental health a priority in the workplace:
I’m really passionate about meditation and meditating for even 10 mins a day can really help to clear my head and prepare me for any bad days ahead.
Keeping a journal of three positive things that happened each day is a great way to stay positive during hard times.
Going for a walk at lunch while listening to the same playlist again and again is how I take care of my mental health.
I love jogging after work as it really helps me to de-stress. I’ve been jogging for 4 years now and it has benefitted me physically as well as mentally.
At Servisource, there is a great community atmosphere and a range of initiatives in place that promote healthy mental practices for all employees.
