Santa Fun Run
Dundalk Chamber of Commerce is launching a Great Santa Fun Run and Christmas Charity lunch which will take place on Friday the 14th December 2012. The Great Santa Fun Run will commence at 11.00am at the Square Dundalk and running/walking a small lap of the town returning back to the square. The event will then move to the Crowne Plaza Hotel for a Business Christmas Charity Lunch at 12.30pm.
The theme of the lunch is for the Business & Civic community to re-connect with the local community and help to “kick start” the festive spirit. With this in mind the event has been carefully planned to ensure that the local community such as schools, family & children and indeed charities will directly benefit from the event:
- Three local charities selected to benefit from the event, namely The Men’s Shed, The Birches Alzheimer Day Care Centre and SOSAD
- One special/deserving child will be selected from local schools to be sent with their family on a memorable holiday to Lapland.
- St. Bridget’s Special School and other local charities will distribute toys from the toy mountain which we be created by those attending taking a new unwrapped toy to the lunch.
Over 100 Santa’s racing through Dundalk, each representing a local business, organisation, club or school. All Proceeds raised will go towards The Birches, Louth Men’s Shed Project, Sosad, St Brigid’s School and other local charities.
