Ireland to move to Level 3 restrictions nationwide

Every county in the Republic of Ireland will be moved to Level 3 Covid-19 restrictions from midnight.

The move comes after Cabinet rejected the National Public Health Emergency Team’s recommendation that the entire country be placed under Level 5 restrictions.

The restrictions come into effect from midnight tonight and will be reviewed in three weeks time.

There was a further 518 new cases of coronavirus yesterday and no new deaths.

Of the 518 new cases, 134 of them were in Dublin, 53 in Cork, 49 in Limerick, 34 in Donegal, 32 in Meath and the remaining 216 cases were spread across 20 counties.
