Dundalk Golf Classic 2011

A great day was had by all at the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic which is now one of the best established and popular golf classics in the North East region.

Even the sun managed to shine for the 38 teams who took part.  This very prestigious annual event, sponsored by myhomecare.ie. was held on Friday 26th August at the Dundalk Golf Club, Blackrock. For many it was an ideal occasion for meeting old colleagues and generating new friendships and contacts.

The Dundalk Golf course as usual was in magnificent condition and is unquestionably one of Ireland’s premium parkland layouts. Team members were treated to a delicious bar-b-que at the 9th hole with evening entertainment, dinner, prize presentation and a raffle in the Club House.

Winners

Excellent prizes of Waterford Crystal worth over €1,400 were presented to 1st, 2nd & 3rd winning teams.
1st prize was won by McCaughey Developments with a great score of 96 points.  2nd prize went to Truform  with 95 points and 3rd prize was won by MM Business Consultancy Service with 94 points. 4th Prize was won by Louth Leader Partnership and 5th prize went to St. Oliver Plunkett Hospital. Nearest the pin on the 9th went to Declan Toal and nearest the pin on the 5th went to Olive Jones. Winner of the longest drive for gents was David Staunton.

The fantastic raffle which followed included a variety of prizes with Niall Carran winning the two tickets to Cirque Du Soleil with one night accommodation in Dublin donated by myhomecare.ie and Eamonn O Reilly winner of the dinner for 2 with wine sponsored by the Crowne Plaza Dundalk. Brian O Neill won the presentation case of wine donated by Alan McGuinness of MacGuinness Wine Merchants which were amongst the valuable prizes to be won.
