There is new plans to hire 250 more public health staff in Ireland. Public health experts job is to investigate and control diseases within the country including coronavrius.
In a report by RTE, there is currently 254 public health experts working across the country, meaning the number will double in the coming weeks and months.
It is expected that Minster for Health, Stephen Donnelly will tell the Oireachtas Committee on COVID-19 Response today that recruitment for the new 250 public health staff will get under way in the coming weeks.
