Public asked to start Christmas shopping early

DublinTown, a group who represents 2,500 businesses in Dublin City Centre has called on the public to commence their Christmas shopping before the annual December rush.

By shopping earlier this year it will help support Irish jobs and businesses and minimise queues in December according to DublinTown.

The threat of Covid-19 has meant that shops have strict limits on the amount people that can be in store at any one time.

Customers are also being asked to support Irish jobs by buying from local retailers and not international businesses online.

Dublin’s Grafton Street has been a very quiet place in recent months due the ongoing pandemic, but retailers are bracing themselves for a surge of customers as Christmas approaches.
