Research Officer – Health Information and Standards

HIQA is recruiting a Research Officer for its Health Information and Standards Directorate.

HIQA exists to improve health and social care services for the people of Ireland. HIQA’s role is to develop standards, inspect and review health and social care services and support informed decisions on how services are delivered.  The Health Information and Standards (HIS) Directorate has five teams. As vacancies arise, the successful candidates will join one of the following teams:

– Governance, Research and Strategy: drives quality and consistency in governance, strategy and research related activity across the HIS Directorate.
– National Care Experience Programme: conducts national programmes of engagement across a range of health services, in conjunction with the Department of Health, Mental Health Commission and the HSE.
– Health Information Quality and Assurance: advises on the efficient and secure collection and sharing of health information, assessing compliance against national standards for national data collection and ehealth services, and evaluating information resources to support health and social care services in Ireland.
– Health Information Standards: sets national standards and develops frameworks and guidance to support the exchange of health and social care information.
– National Standards for health and social care services: develops person-centred standards and guidance, based on evidence and international best practice, for health and social care services.

The research officer will work in a team environment to deliver projects.  Examples of projects include national standards, implementing a national engagement project and developing national guidance. This is a varied and interesting role, encompassing research, stakeholder engagement, administration, operations and coordination of team activities.

Head of Applications

Location: Dublin, Cork or Galway

HIQA is recruiting a Head of Applications for its Information Division Directorate.

The Head of Applications will design, develop, implement and maintain the suite of HIQA’s business software applications by adopting best-in-class practices. They will manage appropriate internal and external staff to deliver business applications on agreed projects and operational activities.  They will ensure strategic and operational projects are planned, developed, co-ordinated, managed and implemented.

The Head of Applications is responsible in ensuring that deployed solutions are fit for purpose and meets the scalability, maintainability, suitability, security and expanding needs of HIQA. They will also be responsible for planning, designing, alignment with system architecture and coordinating the processes required for the design, development of enterprise scaling applications and systems necessary for business projects and operations.

This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the user group on issues related to the design, development, deployment, and support of mission-critical information and software systems. The Head of Applications will be a key member of the Information Division’s management team.

Project Lead – Health Information and Standards Directorate

HIQA is recruiting a Project Lead – Health Information and Standards Directorate for its Health Information and Standards Directorate.

The successful candidate(s) will work in a team environment reporting to a Programme Manager to deliver projects.  Examples of projects include national standards, implementing a national engagement project and developing national guidance. In order to do this, the role involves leading on evidence synthesis such as scoping reviews, landscape analysis, Delphi studies, and focus groups.  It also involves engaging with stakeholders throughout the process. This role will require strong collaboration skills, project management, research, and communication skills. In addition, there are opportunities for successful applicants to pursue a postgraduate degree (PhD or Masters) related to their role.
