Role Overview: As a Clinical/Educational Psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting diagnostic assessments for clients referred by the HSE and private clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a full range of diagnostic assessments (ADOS, ADI-R, Psychological/Cognitive, School or home observations)
- Compile information gathered from various sources to arrive at a differential diagnosis.
- Offer full-scale reports to relevant professionals and clients as well as liaising with schools and other required agencies.
- Offer feedback to families following the assessment to further explain the diagnosis.
- Complete onward referrals as necessary.
- Take part in the quality assurance of reports by having an active role in the presentation of results and feedback process with families.
Essential Criteria:
- Postgraduate degree in Educational or Clinical Psychology as recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland
- If qualified outside of the Republic of Ireland, qualifications must be validated by the Department of Health
- Children’s First Training (HSE Certificate)
- PSI registration
- Minimum of 1 year post graduate qualification experience
- Relevant experience in administering diagnostic assessments in the area of Autism
- Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 Training
- Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised Training
Assessment Process and Fee Structure:
- Our Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) conducts the ADIR, while the Psychologist administers the ADOS.
- During the assessment, the SLT/OT will observe in the room, but roles can be switched to allow the Psychologist to observe and take notes.
- The fee covers assessment administration, report writing (including results and recommendations), and parental feedback.
- All assessments are remunerated at contracted, competitive rates per assessment.
