A targeted patient centred initiative; using an insourced or outsourced model of care. There are experienced teams of clinicians assembled; which often work outside of regular hours; thus reducing waiting lists, dwell times and improve overall hospital discharge and patient outcomes.
In relation to the waiting list clinics that were completed using the insourced model, this worked very well and all involved were very happy with the process. In relation to our long waiters, it worked very well to be seeing the patients in OPD was the same person who had completed their operation. We would be happy to support the continuation of these clinics and more into the future –provided they continue to be resourced as they have been done to date.
