Aim:

Health screening in the workplace is very different from attending a health professional for treatment when ill. The aim of Health Screening is to detect non-symptomatic disease or alternatively lifestyle risk factors that may lead to disease and to intervene early so that either further progression can be stopped or that the eventual outcome can be improved.

We partner with clinical health experts who:

• Design, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the testing regime.
• Oversee the collection and processing of test results recorded on site.
• Maintain adherence to medical standards and clinical practice guidelines
• Assessment of test results and interpretation
• Production of individual screen reports
• Collation of population statistics for management review

Our Health Screening services are backed up by unlimited access and usage of a confidential 24/7 Helpline, available to all employees 365 days a year.

  • Early detection of preventable illness increases your chances of living life to your full potential.
  • Less stress and improved health and fitness is the key to a long happy life.

Early detection saves lives and prompts lifestyle changes that can prevent the early onset of many diseases. In fact many preventable illnesses are often lifestyle related. These include illnesses related to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and certain forms of cancer.

It is estimated that 25-30% of all cancers in developed countries are smoking related. Up to 90% of lung cancers in men and women are attributable to cigarette smoking. Smoking cessation will reduce the incidence of cancer, heart disease, respiratory disease and stroke

It is estimated that one third of people are overweight and more than 20% are clinically obese. Obesity increases the risk of developing premature cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, joint problems and depression.

Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of mortality today. Major risk factors include: family history, smoking, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. A screening medical will help identify individuals at risk.

Diabetes is a leading cause of adult blindness, end-stage kidney disease and heart disease. There is a two to fourfold increase in the risk of heart disease and stroke in those with diabetes. In many cases adult-onset diabetes is a silent disease with few symptoms. It is detected easily by screening.

A mobile unit was provided by Servisource. Booking an appointment was offered online or manually. 518 employees availed of the health checks and all received a confidential report.

Servisource met all conditions of the contract and provided an account manager who was on hand throughout the project to assist and resolve any queries that arose. Galway County Council found Servisource to be professional and helpful throughout the project.
